After being closed for 6 months, UAE’s favorite camping site, Hatta is now open to the public. Booking is now open in two of Meraas’ properties- Damani Lodges and Sedr Trailers. The Sedr Trailers Resort by Meraas, is the ultimate retreat if you are someone who likes a little luxe on nature’s lap. Nestled in the Hajar Mountains, both these resorts offer mesmerizing views of the Hatta Dam, and are perfect for a socially-distant staycation.

Thrilling Rides Opening At The Wadi

Apart from a scenic stay, adventure junkies are in for a treat at Hatta, this winter. From 15 October, visitors can go dual-ziplining, rockclimbing and on a slingshot ride. The 350 meter zipline has dual lanes so visitors can challenger each other over a race in the air. There are 5 different lanes, with varying difficulties, so everyone has something to try.

In addition, from 1 November, visitors can paraglide over the stunning Hajar Mountains for AED 650 for a 15 minute ride. This is the best way to glide over the wadis and get a bird’s eye view of Hatta. Besides, other adventure activities like archery, axe-throwing, mountain carting, mountain biking, hiking  and zorbing are also open now. And, there’s also a drop-in slide that will let you slide down at speeds up to 40 to 80km/h and drop into a head-down into a pool.

Hatta has put in place strict social distancing, and safety precautions throughout the resort and further safety training for staff members.

Overnight Stays At Hatta

Hatta Resorts have reopened for overnight stays, with strict social distancing measures in place.

The Sedr Trailer resorts allows guests to pick from 13 trailers, parked around in a a huge trailer park, amidst the mountains. The resort can sleep groups of up to 26 adults, accompanied by up to 13 children. Each trailer is fully equipped with s sundeck, kitchen, shower facilities, sleeping beds and a living area. There’s also a BBQ area where you can have your private party with a bonfire at night, under a star-lit sky.

Damani Lodges Resort

If you’re planning to head out in bigger groups, Damani Lodges are the perfect fit. The lodges can sleep 40 adults and 23 children. The huts are scattered across three levels on the mountain top. Besides, all guests get a viewing deck, perfect to chill out in the evening and catch a spectacular sunset. Each lodge is well equipped with huge beds, a private bathroom, large television and a minibar for when you want to retreat indoors. Prices vary over weekdays and weekends. As for eating options, the Hatta Wild Cafe has all-day dining. Besides, there’s also a selection of food trucks, as well as a BBQ area. Guests who book out one of the resorts, are eligible to order tailored food and beverage offerings, at an additional cost.

Adventure In Hatta

Hatta is the perfect spot for mountain bikers, adventurers and nature-lovers. From biking to hiking here’s what you can do in Hatta.

1. Kayaking

If you love adventure kayaking in the Hatta Lake is a must. Ride around the pristine waters of the turquoise-hued lake by simply renting a kayak or paddle boats from a kiosk next to the lake. Enjoy your ride while encountering fish and birds. Explore the curved passageways to venture into unseen areas.

2. Hiking

Hike near the border of Oman along the winding paths of the mountains where you will see various sandy patches and sharp rocks. The popular spot is located right behind the Hatta Dam which is one of the largest water bodies in Hatta.

3. Mountain Biking

Mountain biking is one of the best ways to explore the hills and wadis at Hatta. You can join one of the many groups for weekly rides or explore them by yourself. While riding around the mountains enjoy the lush surroundings and scenic views of Hatta.
