Well, it all started off in 1998 when Abdul Samad wooed foodies with his flavorful homemade biryani and chicken 65, at a roadside stall in Chennai. Soon, he realized his passion and decided to convert it into a full-time profession. He then added other ingredients – passion, perseverance and hard work to the recipe he carefully learned from his mother and today, SS Biryani is a household name in the city!
On The Menu
SS Biryani simply nails the biryani scene in the city which is why they serve the fragrant, long-grained rice in perfect Mughlai style.
The menu is pretty simple as the restaurant only serves two types of biryani- Chicken and Mutton. Both of these varieties are served with onion raitha and brinjal curry. So, if you’re wondering what makes this place so special, here it is! A unique speciality of this biryani eatery is that they serve the biryani in bright red buckets.
Buckets are segregated into Smile pack, Smart pack, Super pack, and Standard pack, good enough for 1, 2, 5 and 10 people. We must say, they don’t go easy on the portions. Each of the meal plans come with a biryani of choice, with brinjal curry, onion raitha, boiled egg, and gulab jamun. Now, that’s a sweet way to polish off the meal.
