Underrated Waterfalls Near & In Jabalpur
1. Dhuandhar Waterfall

Located in Jabalpur, Dhuandhar waterfall is a beauty worth visiting. True to its name, ‘Dhuan’, which means ‘smoke’ in Hindi, and ‘Dhar’, which is a steady stream of water, the waterfall cascades from a height of 30 metres, giving an astonishing view to the visitors. Located almost 31 km away from the city centre, the beautiful falls are also one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jabalpur. The monsoon season just adds more beauty to this already stunning waterfall with misty views and rain showers. So if you ever plan to visit Jabalpur, you know which place you just don’t want to miss.
2. Nidan Falls
Also known as a typical bunk spot for school and college students of Jabalpur, Nidan Falls is another must-visit spot. Located 30 kilometres from the city, the water here flows down on the rocks from a great height. The rocks form a staircase-like structure, preventing the harsh flow of the water and making the waterfall a calming sight to enjoy. The falls are about a kilometre away from the main road and can be reached by walking. The fall is enjoyable all year round, but it looks best during the monsoon months.

3. Bhadbhada Waterfalls

Well, this is another surreal waterfall which is located in Jabalpur. The city is surrounded by waterfalls, and all of them are beautiful in their own ways. Present on the Gour River, a tributary of the Narmada, the falls are located just 15 kilometres away from Jabalpur in the Jamtara village. The shape of the falls somewhat resembles the Niagara Falls, but it is very small in terms of its size. The falls are well connected by road, and it’s easier to find. If you wish to visit this fall, then the monsoon season is almost here, and it makes the perfect time for a day out in Bhadbhada.
4. Ghughra Falls
This waterfall looks very similar to Dhuandhar, but it’s beautiful. Situated on the banks of the River Narmada, the Falls are located 17 kilometres away from Jabalpur. The waterfall is located in low-lying waters, and the water moves rapidly as it pours through the rocks. The shape of the waterfall is somewhat arched towards the inside as the water converges towards a central direction, making the motion of water look a lot more fierce and beautiful.

Another fun and worth-visiting place in Jabalpur is the Bagdari Waterfall. It is a picturesque, multi-tier waterfall located approximately 35–45 km from the city, near the Patan and Tendukheda road. Known for its lush surroundings, it is a popular monsoon destination but needs extreme caution due to sudden water surges and a history of dangerous accidents.
7. Bhainsaghat Waterfall
Often merged with the Nidan area, Bhainsaghat is a lesser-explored waterfall in the city. The place is surrounded by rocky terrain and greenery, which makes it one of the best destinations to visit in Jabalpur. It remains relatively uncrowded and offers a raw, natural setting to tourists.
8. Temar Waterfall
Nestled near the Bargi Dam area, Temar Waterfall comes alive during the monsoon. This spot is an ideal picnic place for the families of Jabalpur during the monsoon. The surroundings of the fall are full of forests and hills, adding to its charm, making it an ideal destination for those who enjoy offbeat nature trails.
