Filmmakers are always on the hunt for scenic vistas. Sky-high structures, enticing mountain ranges, and exquisite beaches make their films a sensation. Dubai is one city that has gained a particular place in the hearts of numerous A-list filmmakers from across the world. Dubai’s crown prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed released a video montage on Sunday. It shows the attention-grabbing trailer for a documentary prominently featuring the UAE.
Hollywood has a penchant for glossy cityscapes and magnificent stretches of golden desert, and nothing beats Dubai on both counts! As a result, it’s no wonder that more than 50 films have been shot in the emirate thus far.
Hamdan Shares A Breathtaking Video Of Dubai’s Aerial View
The footage is from the documentary film ‘Awaken,’ according to Sheikh Hamdan‘s Instagram post. Awaken uses time-lapse footage, time-dilation, underwater and aerial filmmaking methods to investigate humanity’s interaction with technology and the environment.
The video features the UAE as a place where one may “get a peek of the future,” with the production crew lead by filmmaker Tom Lowe stationed in Dubai.

“With this film, we’ve created an immersive and unique experience where the audience can explore the globe in an entirely new manner,” Omar Alsalman, General Manager of Dubai Film, which cooperated on the production, told Arabian Business.
It Took Five Years To Complete The Film
One of the “driving factors” behind the project, according to Lowe, was “to shoot the natural world in a way that could compete on a spectacle level with major visual-effects-heavy blockbusters, while capturing everything ‘in camera,’ with no effects, compositing, or post-production gimmicks of any type.”
According to The National, the Dubai Government said in a statement, “Awaken covers the world, delivering unknown landscapes and spectacular views to the human eye for the first time.”
Within the first few hours of being released, the video clip had over 171,000 views. “#Dubai, the city with no bounds.” “@awakenfilm scenes,” Sheikh Hamdan captioned the video.
