One such story is that of Jaspreet, a 10-year-old boy from West Delhi, India, who bravely runs a food cart to support himself and his sister. Jaspreet’s life took a sharp turn when his father passed away, leaving him and his sister in the care of their mother. However, she too, couldn’t bear the burden and eventually left them. Faced with this unimaginable hardship, Jaspreet, at a young age that should be filled with carefree play, took charge.
Now, you’ll find him near Tilak Vihar Police Station, opposite Sunny Juice in Tilak Nagar, expertly handling his food cart. His small hands move with surprising skill, kneading dough and preparing delicious treats, all to ensure their survival. Despite the weight of his circumstances, a spark of innocence and determination shines through his eyes.

One can’t help but wonder about the dreams this young boy might hold close – dreams of playing with friends, enjoying a carefree childhood, or perhaps pursuing an education that unlocks a brighter future. Yet, here he stands, tackling challenges far beyond his years.
“Best help should be free education and guidance in picking up the right stream. Such children should be uplifted by the entire community,” says X (Formerly, Twitter) user Samita Kaur. After his video went viral on social media, help and support began pouring in. Apart From Anand Mahindra, Jarnail Singh AAP reached out to Jaspreet and assured him of every possible assistance.
Jaspreet’s story is not unique. It’s a harsh reality faced by countless children worldwide. It compels us to acknowledge their courage and ignites a desire to make a difference.
