All UAE citizens and residents use Emirates ID as the main form of identification or resident card. As such, it is the personal database of every resident in the UAE and must be carried at all times. And now, you can get your Emirates ID within 24 hours with the help of an urgent service provided by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP). The UAE government portal has provided information according to which this service titled ‘Fawri’ is available for all age groups, including UAE nationals and GCC nationals. Yes, it can be obtained for renewal of expired cards, lost or damaged cards, and first-time registration. Having said this, it is important to note that expatriate residents who aren’t GCC nationals are only allowed to use the urgent service in case of the replacement of their identity cards.

If you wish to avail Fawri service, you can visit any of the customer happiness centres without prior notice and present the necessary documents. ICP customer happiness centres can be found in the following locations:

  • Al Jazeera & Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi
  • Al Barsha, Al Rashidiya & Karama, Dubai
  • Madinat Zayed, Western Region
  • Al Ain Centre
  • Sharjah Centre
  • Ajman Centre
  • Fujairah Centre
  • Ras Al Khaimah Centre
  • Umm Al Quwain Centre

Urgent Service Fee to Avail This Facility

Additionally, it is important to note that those who want to obtain their Emirates ID within 24 hours will have to pay an urgent service fee. Moreover, the ICP website has given a varied fee structure for the services which are given below.

  • The Card issuance fee for 5 years is AED100 for UAE Nationals, GCC Nationals, and Residents/Expats.
  • The card issuance fee for 10 years is AED200 for UAE Nationals.
  • The service fee is fixed at AED50 for UAE Nationals, GCC Nationals, and Residents/Expats.
  • Typing centre fee is AED30 for UAE Nationals, GCC Nationals, and Residents/Expats.
  • Urgent service at customer happiness centres fee is AED150 for UAE Nationals, GCC Nationals, and Residents/Expats.
