We have all read many viral tweets or watched videos about people finding weird and often unimaginable things in their meals. Such things actually give us second thoughts about buying outside food, even on trains. A similar incident took place on the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express. A passenger found a human nail in the meal served on the express. After the tweet went viral, the IRCTC imposed a hefty fine on the caterer responsible. 

Vande Bharat Passenger Found Human Nail In Meal

A passenger ordered a meal on board while he was travelling from CSTM-Madgaon, also known as the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express. What happened next is shocking enough. A human nail was found by the passenger during this meal. 

The passenger, @MachindrapIND, posted a video on Twitter that narrated the incident, including a part of the clip where the human nail was shown. He shared his ordeal, as the nail was found in a packed paneer meal ordered on board. 

The video featured the ticket check on board and was seen explaining to the passenger after the nail incident. He also took pictures of the meal, probably to send them to the higher authorities.

Video Went Viral, Action Taken

The video with a human nail in the meal posted by @MachindrapIND on Twitter has by far garnered 11.9K views. The passenger had tagged IRCTC’s official account, Konkan Railways, Prime Minister Modi, and also the Railway Minister. 

He posted another tweet after it, claiming that he also had call recordings with the IRCTC for a detailed inquiry. The passenger requested that the matter be addressed as soon as possible and strict actions be taken. He also tagged various news channels. 

After a while, IRCTC posted a tweet on this matter and confirmed that the caterer who was responsible for food on the train the other day has been fined ₹25,000. The official account also mentioned that the monitoring at the base kitchen will be strengthened further to avoid such incidents.
