Cricket fans, rejoice! Hyderabad may soon get India’s largest cricket stadium, bigger than the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The stadium will have the capacity to seat over 1.32 lakh people and may feature many modern facilities, too. Here’s everything you need to know about this stadium!

Hyderabad May Get India’s Largest Cricket Stadium

Hyderabad’s Bharat Future City may soon get India’s largest cricket stadium. The state government is planning a 100-acre facility that would surpass the 1.32 lakh-capacity Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. According to The New Indian Express, Telangana’s Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is expected to lay the foundation stone in December.

This cricket stadium will be of international standard, with multi-purpose sporting and events facilities. Authorities are currently working on identifying suitable land at Bharat Future City for this major project, which has got cricket fans excited across India. Currently, India’s largest cricket stadium is the Narendra Modi Stadium, and this one in Hyderabad may soon be bigger than that.

This New Cricket Stadium To Have Modern Facilities

According to The New Indian Express, the BCCI would bear its construction and maintenance costs, while the state government will provide the land. The facility will be jointly managed by the BCCI and the state government. But this facility will go beyond cricket! It will also have provisions for football matches and large-scale concerts. This is amazing, right?

The existing Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium does not have the capacity or facilities to host major international events such as World Cup matches. But this new state-of-the-art venue will be able to meet the city’s future requirements for sports.

The best part is that this international cricket stadium will have strong connectivity, with the Outer Ring Road, proposed Regional Ring Road, proposed Metro extension to the Future City and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Hyderabad is also focusing on developing world-class sports facilities at Bharat Future City for better opportunities for people.
