For decades, Hyderabadi beach lovers have made the three-hour pilgrimage to Suryalanka Beach just to feel sand between their toes. That wait is about to end. Come December 2025, Hyderabad’s outskirts at Kotwal Guda will have a 35-acre artificial beach!
Hyderabad To Get Its First Artificial Beach
According to News18, this will be an ambitious ₹225 crore project built through a public-private partnership that promises thrills, chills, and weekend escapism, all without leaving city limits.
At its heart, the beach will be a man-made lake with sandy shores carefully crafted to mimic a seaside. But don’t think this is just a place to lounge. Floating villas and star-category hotels will give visitors a taste of luxury. For adrenaline junkies, adventure sports like bungee jumping, sailing, skating, and even winter sports are on the menu.
Families get no short shrift either! With parks, cycling tracks, playgrounds, and leisure zones all part of the blueprint, it is supposed to be a fun-filled experience. Food courts, theatres, decorative fountains, and a wave pool aim to make the experience immersive from sunrise to sunset.
All You Need To Know
The choice of Kotwal Guda is purely strategic. Its location near the Outer Ring Road allows easy access while providing space for a large-scale and environmentally conscious development. Officials insist that eco-friendly practices will be integral to the construction, so the city can enjoy a beach without paying an ecological price.
Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy says the project has already attracted interest from international investors looking to go beyond the initial ₹225 crore. He adds that the state’s untapped tourism potential, with its heritage forts, eco-tourism spots, and cultural hubs, is worth over ₹15,000 crore, as stated by News18. The artificial beach is designed to be more than a weekend escape; it’s Hyderabad’s bid for a global tourism spotlight.
Picture this: weekend mornings walking along soft sand, afternoons trying bungee jumps, evenings dining in floating villas, all without leaving the city! That’s the vision; the artificial beach will transform leisure in Hyderabad, drawing not only locals but also international visitors hungry for a unique mix of adventure, relaxation, and entertainment.
This isn’t just about adding a new attraction. It’s about reimagining what Hyderabad can offer to its residents and visitors. When it opens, the city won’t just have a beach; it will have a playful and entirely new weekend destination.
