On March 19, 2021, the Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula vented for the first time in 800 years, triggering tremors in the region. The lava spread out in all directions, turning the skies orange-red. Hundreds of pictures and videos of the volcano were shared over social media. A stunning drone footage of the dramatic volcano streaming down the peninsula made rounds on social media platforms. Iceland has experienced over 50,000 tremours in the last three weeks. Now, the latest post that is amusing the internet is a man cooking bacon and eggs on the spewing lava.
Cooking Bacon And Eggs On Nature’s Hot Bed
A man in Iceland took up the ‘cooking on the volcano’ experiment that are taking netizens by awe. Reportedly, the name of the man is Eiríkur Hilmarsson. He placed the pan on the dazzling lava to cook bacon and eggs for breakfast. The breakfast could not be prepared, as the lava devoured the pan as well. However, the video caught a lot of attention. According to a Times Now News report, Hilmarsson told RUV, “This is my bacon. Better to be damaged. I was going to feed the boys after the walk and it just seems to be getting damaged. Scientists Cooked Sausages On The Volcano
As reported by Reuters, a group of scientists also gathered near the volcano to use the lava as ‘a giant grill to cook sausages’. The scientists were cooking hot dog and buns on the lava. Reuters shared a video of the same, titling it as, “Iceland volcano offers chance to savour hot lava dogs”. The caption of the video mentions, “Scientists at the foot of a volcano in Iceland used its lava as a giant grill to cook sausages as they studied the eruption.”
