IKEA Finally Opens In Mumbai – But Just For 45 Days!

Hear ye, hear ye! IKEA is finally opening in Mumbai, but ummm… it’s not a store. It’s an IKEA truck and there are going to be 2 of them for people to come and visit. Strange right? But who cares, it’s IKEA and we Mumbaikars are finally getting a chance to see what the fuss is all about. Read on for more details.

 

The IKEA Pop-up In Mumbai

Ever since IKEA opened its first store in Hyderabad, the rest of India has been waiting with bated breath for their turn to come. then there was news that IKEA’S second outlet was to open in Navi Mumbai in March 2019 and would offer 1,000 products, all priced below ₹200. March came and went but alas, the IKEA store did not. But now it’s time to rejoice because we’ve got confirmed news that there are not one, but two pop up IKEA trucks in Mumbai and they’re starting today.

The first pop up truck will be stationary and located at Kamala Mills (near Starbucks) and the other truck will be moving in between South Bombay to Bandra. The pop-up trucks will revolve around various concepts like sustainable living, nuclear families etc. IKEA On Wheels, a mobile truck with functional and furnished rooms will let Mumbaikars touch, feel and be inspired with IKEA products and solutions.

IKEA will also be holding various activities to engage their audience, so make sure you participate! Speaking about the IKEA on Wheels, Jaxa Gohil, Store Manager, IKEA India said“As a part of our one market approach, offering IKEA solutions both online and offline is a priority for us. Mumbai is a significant market for us, one of the Top 30 cities globally and our biggest investment in India with warehousing, ecommerce & stores. While we launched our online store for Mumbai recently, ‘IKEA on Wheels’ will primarily help the many Mumbaikars touch, feel and experience our home furnishing solutions, they provide the many people with ideas and inspirations to reimagine their homes with a touch of IKEA!”

While you cannot buy any of the products on the spot, the staff will help you to find the products online and they will be delivered to you. Both the pop-up trucks will be active between 11 am – 9 pm daily.
