This venture is being brought to life in partnership with Grosvenor and EIH London Investments Ltd., alongside a larger South Molton redevelopment project. With its prominent location in Mayfair, the Oberoi London will be the ultimate boutique luxury experience in this iconic neighbourhood.

The hotel will be part of the ambitious South Molton development, the largest mixed-use project in London’s West End. According to Business Standard, spearheaded by Grosvenor and Mitsui Fudosan UK, this expansive 267,000-square-foot project includes high-end office spaces, residences, shops, cafes, and community venues. Oberoi will serve as the crown jewel of this transformation, positioned to draw an estimated £6.5 million in annual visitor spending and create 1,000 permanent jobs, with another 450 construction jobs along the way.

Executive Chairman Arjun Oberoi views this project as a defining chapter for the group’s international growth. “London has always been a key market for our guests,” he explains, emphasising that this venture not only deepens Oberoi’s global footprint but also provides an opportunity to showcase the brand’s bespoke service in one of the world’s premier luxury markets.

The South Molton project received planning permission in 2022 and, as Grosvenor Executive Director Rachel Dickie describes it, aims to be “a destination of international significance.” Oberoi’s involvement provides a luxury anchor, signalling the development’s ambitious vision. This collaboration combines Oberoi’s hospitality expertise with Grosvenor’s commitment to revitalising London’s West End, while the hotel will act as a “gateway” into Mayfair.

The Oberoi London is anticipated to open its doors by 2027, according to the Business Standard reports. For Managing Director and CEO Vikram Oberoi, the hotel will serve as “a pivotal moment for our brand’s global journey.” In his words, it will embody “the very essence of luxury,” nestled within one of London’s most dynamic neighbourhoods.

This project represents a fusion of Indian hospitality excellence with British grandeur.
