In Delhi Exists A Dreamy Chai Spot, And It’s Hidden Above A Spa In Hauz Khas

Hidden in the leafy nooks of Hauz Khas Village, The Tea Room Cafe from Blossom Kochhar is a magical and chai-friendly place. Locals and regulars love this place not just for what’s on the menu, but for how it makes you feel: calm, seen and cosy! With a view of the Deer Park right outside its huge and royal windows, you know you’re in for a rich experience.

Imagine this: You walk past a small bakery counter at the entrance, which by the way is cute-as-a-button. Post this, you take the stairs, walk past a spa to enter a room where rattan lamps cast a honeyed light on wooden tables. A stacks of books and potted green plants soon greet you, and boom, you are in an introvert’s heaven. The windows open out to Deer Park, and a soft playlist hums tunes in the background. It’s like stepping into someone’s sunlit reading nook at home.

Guests mention that the aroma of fresh baked goods like cookies and crepes wafts through the place all day round and makes for a gentle yet indulgent experience! There’s barely room to swing a bag, which only adds to the intimacy.

What’s In The Cup?

The tea menu is a door to another world: Delhi Chai Time, Cream Tea, Bombay Cutting Chai, Organic Tulsi Muluthi and Organic Lavender! One of their star dishes is a “Glow Kombucha” tinted by guava and basil, served in its own cute bottle. It’s something you’d take a photo of before you even taste it. Then there’s the Red Velvet Latte which is “ridiculously good” and filter coffee that hits like a warm hug.

Food Menu That Slaps

Light bites and brunch-y dishes keep that sense of comfort going. Mushroom-spinach galettes (made with buckwheat), fluffy pancakes, freshly baked scones with cream and jam, and creamy beetroot soup, are dishes that slap. One Tripadvisor foodie raved about their mushroom-cheese omelette paired with potato wedges and crisped spinach, saying it felt like a Sunday morning in a film.

Feeling experimental? Try their Cheese and Jalapeno, Mushroom Minced Puffs, Crumbed Paneer Steak and Angry Mama Pasta. They are proof that even small plates here dance in flavour and aroma.
