Hotels And Restaurants Can Now Operate For Home Delivery In Maharashtra

In his recent statement, Ajit Pawar announced that hotels and restaurants will be permitted to keep their kitchens running. However, while doing so, they must adhere to the Health department’s guidelines seriously. “Those preparing food must be neat and clean,” he said. The delivery personnel are also expected to maintain hygiene and practice social distancing.

Pawar further went onto clarify that there is no ban on the sale of eggs, fish, chicken, and mutton in markets and restaurants. In a major relief for farmers and retailers, he also added that fruits like mangoes from Konkan, grapes from Nashik, oranges from Nagpur, and bananas and watermelons can be sold in the market.

Do Not Rush; Essentials Available

“People should not rush and make crowd to buy anything. The essential commodity shops are open by round the clock. Trucks carrying the veggies will be allowed into the city,” he said. Pawar also hinted that he would not hesitate to deploy the army if needed if people continued gathering on the streets.

Acknowledging the work police personnel and medical professionals, Pawar mentioned that strict action will be taken against those who attack or heckle them as they are performing their duty to control the spread of the virus.

India, as of now, stands at 1119 positive cases of coronavirus. The death toll has reached 29 and the number of recovered patients is 87. In Maharashtra itself, the tally stands at 193 cases and 8 deaths.
