Maharashtra Sees 31 Per Cent Spike In Bus Ticket Bookings
According to an article which was recently published by The Times Of India or TOI, the data was sourced from a report curated by redBus, an online platform for bus ticket booking. The report compiled data from various private bus operators.
As per the report, the coming long weekend has seen a 31 per cent spike in bus ticket bookings in Maharashtra from August 17, 2024, to August 19, 2024. The private bus operators are trying their level best to cater to the increasing demand.
As per the TOI article, there are a total of 4,571 bus services to cater to this increasing demand. As per a redBus official cited in the article, there is an increasing preference for bus travel. This is because many view buses as a cost-effective and convenient travel option.

These Are The Most Popular Routes In And Out Of State
The Mumbai-Indore route proved to be one of the most popular inter-state routes for buses. In addition to this, Pune-Indore was another popular route chosen for bus travel. Other popular inter-state bus travel routes include Pune-Bangalore and Pune-Hyderabad.
For intra-state journeys, the most popular route is Mumbai-Mahabaleshwar. Given the popularity of the hill station, many people must have gone to the hill station for the long weekend. Other popular intra-state routes include Mumbai-Kolhapur, Pune-Nagpur, Nagpur-Pune and Mahabaleshwar-Mumbai.
The growing demand shows that many people still prefer to travel by bus as they are convenient, quick and cheap.
