India May Have Lost The World Cup, But Support Pours In For A Great Season

What an exciting and nail-biting World Cup it has been this year! The marquee tournament began with spectacular performances, unexpected wins from some teams, sheer domination from some other teams, and many surprising elements. A tournament of 1.5 months came to an end with Australia lifting the ODI World Cup trophy and becoming the champions for the 6th time.

India Was Dominating Throughout The World Cup But The Final Match Changed Everything

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Men in Blue for playing with great spirit and bringing immense pride to the nation. He tweeted, “We stand with you today and always.”

Cricket is more than just a sport for Indians. Crores of fans come together to shout, cheer, and support the team and prayed, hoped, and wished to see the ODI team clinch the ODI World Cup winner title for the third time. Unfortunately, destiny had some other plans. With a great presentation of cricket; be it bowling, batting, or fielding, Australia defeated the host team and won the trophy last night at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Team India had been nothing but exceptional all throughout the World Cup 2023. Men in Blue started a streak of defeating every team in the group stage and the semi-finals as well. After a continuous winning streak of 10 matches, India sadly broke it in the final match. We had our hopes and expectations raised for the title this year but the ending is something that we did not even imagine in our worst nightmare. We wished it to be revenge for the 2003 World Cup final but, Australia did not let that happen.

Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) comes in support of the Indian team.

Our Men in Blue might have failed to lift the trophy this year but they surely had some of the most impressive and historical performances. Be it Rohit Sharma’s selfless captaincy, Virat Kohli’s 50th ODI century, or Mohammad Shami’s 7 wicket haul, what an extraordinary tournament this has been. But one bad match changed many people’s mindset and support for the team.

Cricket Fans Are Standing With The Men In Blue

It is so heartbreaking to see people dissing the team for losing the final match. No matter how much we expected our men to win, it is no way fine to abuse them online. People are forgetting the sheer dominance and power the Indian team showed this year and instead criticising them for this final.

It was a nail-biting final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium yesterday and our boys gave their everything to fulfill the dream of the nation to lift the World Cup trophy after 12 years. The team that entertained us and gave us so many happy moments to cherish and celebrate in the last one and a half months deserves all our love and support at this crucial point. We are not the only ones who are heartbroken, they are equally disappointed with the results.

From politicians to cricketers to celebrities, Netizens are pouring their hearts into supporting the boys for this year’s performances. In between all the flak and negative remarks by lakhs, crores are standing forward and shielding the team with love and good wishes.

Here’s how everyone is coming forward to stand for the team, with the team.
