We kicked off the day at the famous Rajkumar Kachehri Wale for their chole bhature and went on to enjoy samosas from Pappu Samose Waley and a cup of kadak chai. But this episode was not just about food and the vibrant streets of Uttar Pradesh. Kapil Kanpuriya opened up about his life, shared interesting details, and revealed the one person he is most scared of. Read on to find out who that is!
Kapil Kanpuriya- The Relatable Content Creator
Kapil Kanpuriya, a content creator from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, is now a rising star on social media. With his hilarious videos that people find relatable, he has made a space for himself. In this special Tere Gully Mein episode, we explored the streets of UP with him while enjoying its chole bhature and samosas. Our day began at the decades-old and iconic Rajkumar Kachehri Wale, famous for its chole bhature. Kapil said one line that honestly stayed with us: “aap kachehri aaye aur chole bhature nahi khaye toh kya khaak kachehri aaye.” (What’s the point of coming to Kachehri if you don’t eat chole bhature?)
After the chole bhature, we tried Thaggu ke Ladoo, Pappu ke Samose and ‘Badnaam Kulfi‘. Over food, we asked Kapil about his life in Delhi. He told us it was very routine, mostly office and back. He also said many Kanpuriyas are living in Delhi. When asked about the common traits in Kanpuriyas, he smiled and said, “Kanpuriya khush rehte hai, dukhi hone ka reason hi nahi hai” (Kanpuriyas are always happy. They simply don’t have a reason to be sad). He added that Kanpuriyas are bold, unfiltered, direct, and not scared of anyone. But when we asked him who Kapil Kanpuriya is scared of, without missing a beat, he said, “Mummy se darr lagta hai” (I am scared of my mom) while laughing and adding, “biwi se bhi lagta hai” (I am scared of my wife, too). He also shared that during shoots at home, he often ends up fighting with his mum, after which he has to console her.
Chai And Kanpuriya Slangs
The episode continued with Kapil sharing fun and nostalgic stories from his school life. He told us that he can never leave Kanpur as he simply cannot imagine himself living a city life elsewhere. From there, we headed to the legendary Banarasi Tea Stall, which has been running since 1952. Known for their chai and bun maska, the place attracts long queues of people.
We then played an interesting Kanpuriya Slangs Game, where we gave him lines in Hindi and asked him to say them in his Kanpuriya style. It was hilarious and full of laughter. Kapil also shared his love story with us before we wrapped up with our favourite ‘This or That’ game. The day ended with him talking about his life and some exciting upcoming projects.
