Some food is meant to be eaten elegantly; Nalli nihari is not one of them. Toxic star Tara Sutaria recently gave Kamiya Jani a rather unexpected lesson in eating the dish during her Sunday Brunch outing. The actor took Kamiya Jani to Gallops, the Mumbai restaurant she has loved since childhood, and while they were digging into the nalli nihari, Tara Sutaria revealed a very specific little habit of hers.
Toxic Star Tara Sutaria Has A Very Unusual Nalli Nihari Hack
She eats Nalli Nihari with a straw! Apparently, sometimes Tara genuinely prefers a straw because she feels shy while eating nalli nihari the usual way. And frankly, if you have ever been served nalli nihari in a restaurant, you may understand the problem. The dish is gloriously rich and very messy. The nalli is the bone marrow, which turns wonderfully soft and buttery as it cooks. Usually, you dig into the bone, coax the marrow out and eat it with the nihari or scoop everything up with naan. At home, nobody cares. At a restaurant, suddenly you become hyper-aware of where your hands are, what your spoon is doing and whether the entire table is watching you attack a bone.
Tara apparently chose another route: just drink it. Kamiya, being Kamiya, obviously wasn’t going to hear this and move on. So the Sunday Brunch table became the testing ground. Two straws were ordered, and the duo attempted Tara’s unconventional nalli-nihari technique right there on camera.

Kamiya Jani Tries The Nalli Nihari Straw Hack
The trial was every bit as ridiculous as you would imagine. They sipped the nihari through the straws, producing those slightly syrupy, slurpy sounds that immediately make you question every decision that brought you to this moment. There was an undeniable awkwardness to it. But there was also something weirdly satisfying about watching them commit to the experiment instead of pretending it was perfectly normal.
Tara Sutaria may have arrived at Gallops to talk about food, childhood memories and everything happening around Toxic. Instead, she left Kamiya Jani with a new dining hack. Nalli nihari, but make it straw-friendly!
Maybe it is unconventional, and maybe it is slightly unhinged, but if the alternative is wrestling with a marrow bone while trying to look elegant, Tara Sutaria might actually be onto something.
