Harsh Gujral Talks About His Early Days On Tere Gully Mein

You might have heard a lot about comedian Harsh Gujral, but aren’t you curious to know more about his background, hometown, and early days? On this latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, Curly Tales reached Kanpur, where the comedy star not only shared stories from his early days and his dating experiences but also made us enjoy the authentic snacks Kanpur is known for. We can all agree that Kanpur is a food lover’s paradise.

We started the episode by visiting Harsh Gujral’s school, St Stephen Senior Secondary School, where he re-lived some of his memories. He interacted with the students and met his teachers. He also shared some naughty nostalgic memories and revealed that he had his first girlfriend in this school in the 11th standard. After this cute revisit, we started our food trail in Kanpur, beginning with the famous Kanpur Mattha from Pahalwan Ji Mattha.

While enjoying mattha and bread, we asked Harsh about his journey from Kanpur to Delhi. The comedian shared that it was not his choice to move to Delhi. His parents sent him there to prevent him from getting spoiled in Kanpur with his friends.

Our Tere Gully Mein episode continued with a visit to Harsh’s old house in Lal Bangla. The walk through the neighbourhood was heartfelt. He met some of his neighbours and greeted them warmly. We then went to the Lal Bangla Market, where he spent much of his childhood.

After the walk, we made our way to the next food stop: Baba Biryani. It is one of Kanpur’s most famous biryani spots and has been running since 1982. Over a hot plate of biryani, Harsh talked about his family, his success, and even admitted that he still feels stage fright today.

We then ordered Shahi Tukda, enjoyed it, and moved to our next stop, Thaggu Ke Laddu, for their famous Badnaam Kulfi. Harsh revealed that during his childhood, he used to come here with his family and that it is still one of his favourite spots. We asked him what he thinks about Gen Z, and he had some strong opinions, not going to lie. We then played our signature ‘Never Have I Ever’ game with Harsh, asked about his future plans before wrapping up this fun and food-filled Tere Gully Mein episode!
