Every family has that one sibling who somehow escapes trouble. And then there’s the other sibling, the one who ends up getting blamed for things they may or may not have done. For actor Saqib Saleem, that sibling was apparently Huma Qureshi. The brother-sister duo appeared on Sunday Brunch with Kamiya Jani, where what started as a conversation about childhood memories turned into a hilarious audit of decades-old sibling grievances. And Saqib clearly came with receipts!

Huma Qureshi Knew Exactly How To Win Arguments

It began with Huma Qureshi dramatically declaring that she was the one who had suffered growing up.

Main sirf piti hoon. Kitna atyachaar hua hai mere saath. Bahut atyachaar hua.”

Saqib looked genuinely amused by the claim.

According to him, Huma had cracked the code to winning every sibling fight long before either of them became actors. Their father, he explained, was fiercely protective of his daughter. Protective enough that Huma knew exactly which buttons to press whenever the two got into an argument.

Saqib revealed that during their fights, Huma would suddenly start screaming as though he was attacking her.

Nahi nahi Saqib! Lag rahi hai!”

The performance, he implied, was often Oscar-worthy. The moment those cries echoed through the house, their father would rush in from another room, convinced that something terrible had happened.

The Funniest Sibling Rivalry You’ll Hear Today!

Huma immediately jumped in, recreating the scene herself. She would say some vulnerable dialogue. And just like that, Dad would appear. Saqib joked that once their father believed his daughter was in distress, the case was already closed.

He even teased that if their father ever found out someone had hurt Huma, there would be serious consequences. Which, conveniently for Huma, made him the perfect witness whenever she needed backup in a sibling dispute.

As if that wasn’t enough ammunition against his sister, Saqib later brought up another long-standing family issue, which was favouritism.

When Kamiya Jani pointed out that Saqib is the youngest among four siblings and therefore must have been the most pampered child, his response came instantly.

Kaash aisa hua hota.”

For context, Huma and Saqib have two elder brothers, making Huma the only daughter in the family. While Kamiya suggested that being the only girl may have earned Huma special treatment, Saqib didn’t need much convincing.

In fact, he had examples ready. Whether it was a car, a driver, or any luxury that needed to be arranged, Saqib claimed it somehow always found its way to Huma.

Meanwhile, according to his version of events, he was taking DTC buses for hours to travel to cricket matches, then figuring out his journey home by hopping onto someone’s bike. The contrast couldn’t have been painted more dramatically. Huma, unsurprisingly, wasn’t buying the victim narrative. It was truly a riot!
