Kullu Claims He Wakes Up At 10 AM, But Only “Enters The World” At 1 AM; The Story Behind That Punchline

There are sunsets, and then there are Kullu’s sunsets. The comedian, who gave us a tour of his hometown Bhopal for an episode of Tere Gully Mein, turned the city outing into equal parts travel diary, stand-up act, and food crawl.

Kullubaazi In Bhopal And His Love For Sunsets

The stop was Bharat Bhavan, where the evening sky became the stage. Kullu started talking about his love for sunsets, and then immediately confessed he’s barely ever seen a sunrise. “Uth main 10–11 baje jaata hoon, lekin duniya mein main 1 baje aata hoon,” he cracked.

Sunsets, though, he takes seriously. For the last five years, he said, friends have gathered at Bharat Bhavan to sip tea, watch the sky melt into gold, and indulge in what he called “paloti baazi.” Cue us teasing him, “Arre kullubaazi ki paloti bhaji?” and the whole thing spiraled into a joke.

Kullu Wakes Up At 10 AM, Meets The World At 1 PM

Kullu being Kullu, he slipped in another gem: “Main Bhopali aadmi hoon. Pehle ek ghanta uthke chai peeta hoon.” There’s a rhythm to how he says things, as half-punchline and half honesty.

Talking about the food, we relished on a plate of Chole Bhature, the bhature puffed and golden and the chole fiery and rich. Nobody pretended to take just one bite! Dahi Bhalla were the stars of the day, cool and tangy, as the perfect reset button after spice overload.

Just when it seemed like the spread couldn’t surprise, a Bhopali-style French Toast was introduced. It was indulgent, thicker, roasty and sweet, but with a street-side swagger.

What made the episode click wasn’t just the jokes or the food, but the way Kullu framed life. He might miss sunrises, but he doesn’t miss sunsets; he might take hours to fully “arrive” in the day, but when he does, he does it with chai, friends, and a laugh. Between the bites and the banter, it felt like Bhopal itself was a co-star, a city where evenings stretch long, cups of tea refill themselves, and even French toast carries a story.
