There’s a melodious magic to the latest episode of Sunday Brunch with Kamiya Jani, our editor-in-chief. Palak Muchhal and Mithoon were the latest guests on the show, and they brought not only their melodious presence but also a heartfelt Hindustani food spread to the episode. Learn about their heart surgery charity, bag collections and their personal love story!
A Melodious Sunday Brunch With Palak Muchhal & Mithoon
Kamiya Jani opens with a familiar confession; she reveals how she’s constantly asked about her curly hair routine, but instead of answering it herself, she tosses the question to Palak. Palak doesn’t respond with tips or products. Instead, she pauses and says something unexpectedly tender: that curly hair personalities are never the same, that texture carries temperament, and that every version is its own kind of special. And it sets the emotional register for the rest of the episode.
That register deepens when the camera lingers on a quiet corner of Palak’s home, where a doll is kept. They’re not decorative, but each doll marks a life saved. Palak explains that since she was 17, she has been sponsoring heart surgeries for underprivileged children, and for every surgery she funds, she buys one doll. One surgery, one doll; this is a system she created for herself. It was part accountability and part memory. As of now, 3,908 surgeries have been supported. The dolls are her way of keeping count without reducing lives to numbers.
Elsewhere in the house, shelves give away quieter interests. A book collection sits in plain view, Harry Potter spines immediately recognisable, an unspoken nod to every Potterhead watching.
Then there’s the bag closet. It has structured bags, playful ones, statement pieces, and even musical designs, one shaped like a piano. When Kamiya Jani, our editor-in-chief, asks how many there are, Palak laughs and says, “Main Marwari hoon. Humare yahan kehte hain ginne se kam ho jaata hai.”
A Hindustani Food Spread That Feels Like Home & More
Their love story follows the same understated pattern. Mithoon shares that they’d met only seven or eight times, strictly for work, when something settled for him. He messaged her, and after a few conversations, he told her plainly that he wanted to spend his life with her. Don’t we all adore and want this kind of simple love, deep down?
The table nearby carried an equally heartfelt spread that feels unmistakably home-first: ghugra and thepla alongside chole, paneer butter masala, samosas, patties, mushroom baskets, and simple dal-rice.
A game follows, How Well Do They Know Each Other, with questions about favourite songs and preferred hours: mornings, nights, or endless studio time. They answer for each other, they are right and sometimes not, but always candid. Watch the episode to see this couple’s chaos.

The episode doesn’t end with a punchline, it ends with Palak singing “Tum Hi Ho.” It was just her voice filling the room, exactly the way the episode began. It was intimate and quietly complete.
