Rajma Chawal Or Kadhi Chawal? Karan Aujla Reveals His Favourite Dish!

Curly Tales is back with another exciting Sunday Brunch episode, this time with the singer who got all of us saying ‘Tauba Tauba’, the one and only–Karan Aujla. Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, joined the singer for a delicious Maharashtrian street food spread featuring Vada Pav, Misal Pav, Sev Puri, Dahi Vada, Bhel, Pav Bhaji, and Bhajia. Between bites, Karan also played some fun games where he revealed his favourites, making the episode all the more entertaining. Scroll on to catch all the highlights!

Karan Aujla Picks His Favourites

Over a delicious meal, Kamiya decided to give Karan Aujla a few food choices and asked him to pick his favourites. She started strong and asked the singer to choose between Rajma Chawal or Kadhi Chawal, and though it was a tough choice, the singer went with Kadhi Chawal. Between Gurudwara ka Kada Prasad and chocolate mousse from a five-star place, he chose the Kada Prasad, and we totally understand why!

Moving forward with the game, Kamiya asked, “Jalebi Rabdi from Ludhiana or Maple Syrup Pancake from Canada?” Karan chose Jalebi Rabdi, showing he is a true desi at heart! In the choice between Desi Tandoori Tikka and KFC Wings, the Tauba Tauba singer picked Desi Tandoori Tikka. When asked to choose between private jet life or a gedi in Punjab da pind, Karan happily chose a “gedi in Punjab da pind”. On this, he said that, “Private jet life is cool, but gedi in Punjab da pind is something that refreshes you.” When asked to pick between a tractor and a Rolls-Royce, he went with the Rolls-Royce. For a diamond-studded watch or limited-edition sneakers, he picked the watch. And for the last option, it was chaas or lassi—being a true Punjabi, he chose lassi, though he admitted he loves both.

Besides Singing, He’s A Great Cook As Well!

In the conversation, we asked Karan whether Canadian-Indian food and Indian food are different. He said, “Jo India or Punjab ka khane ka swaad hai, woh same toh nahi hai.” He also revealed that he can make really good Tawa Chicken. In his previous home backyard, he used to prepare it in a large kadhai.

Karan Aujla also mentioned that he finds it difficult to remember recipes, but he is really good at following them. Also, his favourite dishes are chole bhature, gobi paratha, paneer paratha and cauliflower paratha that he likes to eat slowly, savouring each bite.
