“Some People Have It, Some Don’t. I Had It”: Jackie Shroff On His Bond With Nature

The actor, who has always been vocal about his love for nature, plants and simple living, gave a sneak peek of his home garden and revealed why he is so fond of vegetables. Scroll down to know why!

Jackie Shroff Talks About His Love For Vegetables

Jackie Shroff was describing his love for plants and vegetables, and that intrigued Kamiya, and she quickly asked him what we have been wanting to know for so long: ‘How is he so invested in the story behind all the vegetables?’ To which he recalled a childhood memory from school that stayed with him forever.

He said, “It’s like when you start. In schools. There used to be a class in which they used to give sand. And they used to put fenugreek seeds in the sand. And then after a week, they had to come and show how big ours is. Fenugreek used to come early. So it’s always stuck somewhere in the mind,” he shared. He further added, “Old things. Some people have it. Some people don’t have it. I had it.”

Jackie Shroff Shares His Traditional Remedies

Apart from gardening, Jackie also talked about traditional remedies and natural practices that he believes in. Sharing an old belief connected to banana trees, he explained, “It’s like a banana tree. After giving the banana. If we cut it. We cut it and make a hole in it. In the stem. After making a hole. We put a banana leaf on it. 2-3 litres of water come in it. That water can also be drunk. They say it’s good for the kidneys. I believe it.”

The actor admitted that not every traditional remedy may have scientific backing, but he values the simplicity behind such practices and the connection they create with nature.

Over the years, Jaggu Dada’s love for vegetables, plants, and earthy living has become a part of his identity. For fans, it is refreshing to see a celebrity who continues to celebrate simplicity, old-school wisdom, and a genuine connection with nature.
