“Success Is A Happiness Meter,” Gaurav Gera Gives Unique Definition Of Success

There was plenty to notice when Kamiya Jani dropped by Gaurav Gera’s Oshiwara home for a special Sunday Brunch. The table looked like it had been set by memory rather than menu planning, with steaming Punjabi kadhi, comforting chai, fizzy doodh soda, and the kind of spread that makes people loosen up before the first serious question arrives. And once it did, the conversation moved far beyond food.

Gaurav Gera Says Success Is Not About Money Or Fame

Kamiya Jani asked him what success means to him. It is the sort of question many answer with rehearsed lines about hard work, ambition, or reaching the top. Gaurav Gera did not go there. He said the meaning of success changes from person to person. One person may have very little money and still be successful. Another may have plenty and feel nothing inside. We are trained to connect success with earnings, status, and visible achievement, but he made it clear that this equation does not always hold. In fact, often it does not.

As he has grown older and seen life more clearly, his definition has shifted. For him now, success is a happiness meter. That was his phrase, and it landed because of how simple it was. How happy are you? How peaceful are you when the room is quiet? How much gratitude do you feel when nobody is clapping? Those answers matter more than any title.

He also spoke honestly about the illusions he once carried. He believed, like many people do, that if he became a certain version of himself, reached certain milestones, looked a certain way, or acquired certain things, happiness would automatically arrive afterwards. Today, he said he simply wants to be like his father.

Like his father, he wishes to be an honest man, loved by people, respected by those around him, and someone who does not think badly of anyone. Gaurav said his father never earned an outrageous amount of money, never built the flashy image many chase, yet remained his role model in the most meaningful sense.

When Kamiya asked what brings him happiness now, his answer was immediate: making his parents proud. He said they have been happy from the very beginning of his journey. Even his work in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin and the joy attached to those moments mattered because his parents felt proud watching him grow.
