Some brunch episodes are about food. This one in particular was not only about food but also about first impressions, bruised egos that never really happened, and two actors exposing each other with suspicious enthusiasm. When Kamiya Jani invited Medha Shankr and Avinash Tiwary to Sunday Brunch, the setup already had range: a UP versus Bihar cook-off. Medha arrived with aloo puri, the kind of dish that feels like a weekend at home. Avinash countered with litti chokha, proudly carrying Bihar on his plate.
Medha Shankr & Avinash Tiwary Expose Each Other
Then Kamiya Jani asked the dangerous question: What were your first impressions of each other?
Avinash grabbed the mic first and immediately turned the memory into a full comedy sketch. He said they had once met by accident somewhere, one of those quick industry run-ins where people are not sure whether to wave, nod, or pretend to check their phone. He apparently said hi. According to him, Medha responded in a way that made the temperature drop by several degrees. In his retelling, she was distant, unimpressed, and somewhat uninterested in warming up to him. Across the table, Medha kept protesting, laughing, and firmly rejecting the allegation in real time.
Her version was better. She said their first proper interaction happened later during a reading session. While going through the script, Avinash noticed that an important scene had strong lines being spoken by Medha’s brother instead of Medha herself, even though she was the protagonist. He questioned it.
Medha said she found it unexpectedly sweet. Here was an actor paying attention to another performer’s space in the story, not guarding his own spotlight. To her, it showed generosity and the kind of security people talk about but rarely demonstrate.

Medha & Avinash’s First Impressions
Then Avinash admitted he had misread her, too. After watching her in 12th Fail, he had built an image of Medha as gentle, pure, and almost saintly, someone who probably apologises to furniture after bumping into it.
Reality, he said, was far more entertaining. Medha is a complete mastikhor. She has mischief, spark, and what he called a hidden badmash child living inside her.
So the brunch delivered everything: aloo puri, litti chokha, mistaken impressions, kindness, and one carefully protected secret now fully exposed.
