In India, Independence Day is celebrated with events and festivities across different cities. Like every year, people are looking forward to the celebrations at the Red Fort this year too. However, this year, the ceremony will see a major change. Read on to know more! 

Vande Mataram To Be Sung At Red Fort On Independence Day 

Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, preparations and security arrangements are currently underway at the Red Fort in New Delhi. On this auspicious day, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag. Also, this year, there will be a major change.

As per The Indian Express, the Ministry of Defence said that ‘Vande Mataram’ will be played at the Red Fort during the Independence Day ceremony for the first time. Defence Secretary RK Singh said the National Song will be played after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaches the ramparts. Everyone present at the venue will stand while the song is being played.

What Is The Theme Of Celebration?

This year, the Independence Day celebrations will also focus on ‘Yuva Shakti’, which means the power of India’s youth. The event will highlight the achievements and contributions of students and young Indians. 

The Indian Express reported that the event will showcase young entrepreneurs and engineers who are doing important work. This includes people working in advanced areas like space technology and finding ways to manage space debris, which is waste or unwanted objects floating in space. 

Also, security has been increased in Delhi ahead of August 15. Authorities are making special arrangements to ensure the Independence Day celebrations go smoothly and everyone attending the event stays safe.
