There are some people who continue to live in everyone’s hearts through their memories, and work. One such inspiring person is Prachi Sharma, the daughter of Eve restaurant owner Sumit Sharma. Her beautiful art continues to reflect her creativity and keeps her presence alive. Here’s her story.
A Light That Still Shines Through Her Art

Yesterday, we witnessed an overwhelming and emotional gathering where Prachi Sharma was remembered in the most heartfelt way by her family.
On April 16, which would have been her 23rd birthday, her parents and brother came together to launch an art book, Tvastra by Prachi Sharma, featuring over 200 of her artworks. The event was held at Eve, the restaurant owned by Sumit Sharma in Santacruz, Mumbai, where the family and friends gathered under one roof.
A special wall at Eve restaurant was decorated with Prachi’s art, turning the space into a memory of her creativity. The art book features her much-loved butterfly artwork as the cover, a piece especially loved by her mother, Priya Sharma.
The atmosphere became emotional as family members shared memories of Prachi. It was truly moving to see how her family is preserving her legacy through art. They are turning her creativity into something that continues to inspire. Sumit also mentioned that Prachi’s art will be hung in Indian embassies, and they are also planning to open an art gallery for her.

When Did Prachi Begin Her Art Journey?
Seeing Prachi’s beautiful art pieces naturally made us curious about her journey. To understand more, we had a brief conversation with her father, Sumit Govind Sharma. When asked about how it all began, he shared a heartwarming memory. Prachi was just 3.5 years old when he and his wife noticed her sketching a picture of Lord Krishna from a 3d frame on the wall. That moment made them realise her passion, and they decided to support her wholeheartedly. By the age of six, Prachi found an art mentor who guided her closely and helped nurture her talent over the years.
Prachi’s dedication towards art was truly inspiring. Unlike other girls who have clothes and accessories in their closets, Prachi’s closet was full of art. Her father recalled how she would often lose track of time while painting, sometimes continuing till early morning. Art was her world. She would quietly put on her earphones, listen to music, and immerse herself completely.
“Not In The Genes, But God-Gifted” Shares Prachi’s Dad
Her imagination was extraordinary; the way she perceived the world and transformed it into art felt almost magical. In one of her creations, she used simple variations of dots to craft something truly beautiful and unique. Sumit Sharma shared, “She was God-gifted.” No one else in the family was connected to art the way Prachi was. Though she left us in 2022, her presence continues to live on through her art, and she will always be remembered with love.
Beyond her art, Prachi was a humble and introverted soul who enjoyed her own space. When we asked her father to choose his favourite artwork of hers, he gently said he couldn’t pick just one; each piece held a special place in his heart.
A Thoughtfully Curated Menu That Honoured Prachi’s Favourites
The menu for the launch event was also thoughtfully curated, keeping Prachi’s favourite dishes in consideration. It included drinks like Blue Lagoon, Fruit Punch, and Aam Ras and a drink dedicated to her, coined ‘Butterfly‘. Sumit Sharma shared that all of his restaurants have one mocktail named ‘Butterfly’ dedicated to his daughter.
The non-veg small plates featured Chicken Popcorn, Cafreal Chicken Tikka, Assorted Flat Bread Chicken, and Fish Finger. The veg small plates included Chilli Basil Cottage Cheese, Vegetable Wonton, Assorted Veg Flatbread, and Dabeli.
For Mains, they served Smoked Chicken Curry and Fish in Black Pepper Sauce along with large plates such as Penne Pasta in Pink Sauce with Exotic Vegetables & Garlic Bread, Chilli Garlic Noodles, Assorted Indian Breads, Paneer Makhanwala, Mix Veg, Veg Manchurian, and Vegetable Pulao.
The dinner was followed by desserts like Mango Tiramisu, Nutella Mousse, Kesar and Nuts Phirni, and Chocolate Ice Cream.
My colleague Deeplata and I were truly honoured to be a part of this intimate and special art book launch.
