Attention Foodies! Andhra Pradesh Will Officially Be Developed Into A Culinary Tourism Hub; Here’s How

Andhra Pradesh, known as the ‘Kohinoor of India’, enjoys huge popularity among tourists for the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and its rich cultural heritage. Now, AP’s tourism department has unveiled plans to develop the state as a culinary tourism destination that would further attract more visitors. Here’s what we know so far.

Andhra Pradesh To Become Culinary Tourism Destination 

According to The Times of India, the Andhra Pradesh tourism department has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Culinary Institute in Tirupati. This MoU is aimed at developing the state as a culinary tourism destination. Reportedly, the MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Special Chief Secretary (Tourism) Ajay Jain and ICI representatives exchanged the agreement documents.

Under this initiative, ICI will join hands with the tourism department to promote Telugu cuisine, regional food traditions, and culinary heritage at the national and international levels. This initiative is also expected to support efforts to make Andhra Pradesh a hub for culinary tourism.

Food Festivals, Tourism Events & More 

According to The Times of India, this MoU also highlights the possibility of skill development in the culinary sector. ICI and the state’s tourism department will work towards creating employment and job opportunities for the youth. The institute will also collaborate with the AP Tourism Authority to organise food festivals and tourism events across the state.

This initiative is expected to further strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s tourism ecosystem by integrating its rich food culture with travel experiences. If everything goes well, the state will attract many domestic and international tourists who will get to enjoy the delicious food Andhra Pradesh has to offer. The state is known for its amazing food. From spicy curries to biryanis and desserts, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
