Indri Launches Ultra-Rare Rudhira Single Malt With Just 252 Bottles In India Market

Indri Single Malt Whisky has partnered with The Dram Club, India’s largest whisky community, to launch Indri Rudhira, a limited-edition expression. The total number of bottles being made available for sale in this release is only 252, which makes Indri Rudhira one of the most sought-after and exclusive single malt expressions available anywhere in India today.

Indri Introduces Rudhira, An Exclusive Limited-Edition Whisky

What differentiates Indri Rudhira from any other single malt whisky produced in India is that it is the first-ever Indian whisky that has been matured in a Pineau des Charentes cask. Bottled at 50% ABV (alcohol by volume), Indri Rudhira is intended to provide drinkers with a robust flavour.

Indri Rudhira was produced at Indri Village, Haryana, and melds together various flavour profiles including smoke, fruit, and oak. It has a superbly blended tasting profile featuring elegant aromas of ripe orchard and stone fruits paired with honeyed sweetness, dried apricot and faint floral notes. 

The flavour experience on the palate is rich and full-bodied with the emergence of caramelised fruits, vanilla, warm spice character, and the gentle influence of peat, along with the complexity of oak, which gives the whisky its depth. There is a long and sophisticated finish to the whisky, with a lingering sweetness and spiciness on the palate.

As stated by Shalini Sharma, Head of Marketing at Piccadilly Agro Industries Limited, Indri Rudhira was developed to be a landmark for both the Indri brand and the entire Indian Single Malt Whisky category. She also stressed that while it may be classified as a limited edition release, it is about redefining the traditional Indian whisky category and demonstrating what Indian whiskies can accomplish when positioned globally.

Similarly, Swati Sharma, Co-founder of The Dram Club, acknowledged that the collaboration between Indri and The Dram Club is a common vision to create unique and collectable expressions for whisky enthusiasts, and the limited edition release illustrates that Indian consumers are increasingly interested in distinctive and premium spirits.

Indri Rudhira’s price point is set at ₹12,500 per bottle, and it is currently available in Bangalore. The release is positioned as a collector’s item for individuals who are looking for unique and innovative whiskies to add to their collections.
