During our recent trip to Goa, we visited Ritz Classic, a nearly 50-year-old restaurant known for serving authentic Goan flavours. Opened in 1976, this iconic eatery has been a favourite among locals and tourists alike. Located in Calangute, the two-storey restaurant is a paradise for seafood lovers.
The current owner shared that his father, a freedom fighter, moved to Panjim and started Ritz Classic with just four tables. At the time, meals were priced at just ₹1.25. Today, the restaurant serves over 1,000 fish thalis every day, making it one of Goa’s most popular dining spots.

Inside The Iconic Fish Thali
The iconic fish thali at Ritz Classic features around 13 delicious items, making it one of the restaurant’s biggest highlights. The spread includes Crab Xacuti, Sukha Tisryo, Bangda Ambotik, Mango Sasav, Pumpkin Sabzi, Chana Bhaji, Dry Prawns Kismoor, Kheer, Solkadi, Prawns Curry, Fish Fry, and rice. Apart from the thali, Crab Masala Fry and Chicken Cafreal are also must-try dishes.
The best part? It’s incredibly affordable. This wholesome fish thali is priced at just ₹300. To complete your meal, you can also try refreshing drinks like the Thai Lychee and Watermelon Martini. So, the next time you’re in Goa, make sure to add Ritz Classic to your food itinerary.
