World Gin Day is almost here, and what better way to celebrate it than with a fine gin cocktail in hand? From refreshing citrus-forward drinks to creative cocktails, gin continues to be a popular choice among many of us at Curly Tales. So, we asked the CT team to share their go-to gin drinks and the cocktails they keep going back to and where to get them. Whether you’re a classic gin lover or looking for inspiration for your next order, here’s a look at the gin-based drinks our team loves to sip at every occasion. Take a look!

CT Team Picks Their Go-To Gin Drinks

1. High Tea At The Palms Brew & Kitchen, Bengaluru

For our Associate Editor, Sannjanaa, the best gin cocktail is the High Tea at The Palms Brew & Kitchen in Bengaluru. Made with gin, orange blossom water, Earl Grey tea, and lemongrass, the cocktail is lightly fizzy, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. What truly makes the experience better for her is the exquisite garnish: a Good Day biscuit rubbed with lemon rind, adding a nostalgic yet playful touch to the cocktail. Can you believe it? A Good Day on a cocktail? This sounds worth trying.

2. Cherry On Top At Barbet & Pals, Delhi

For our Sub Editor, Tashika, gin has evolved into the spirit of choice over the last few years, slowly replacing vodka and rum as her go-to drink. While she enjoys a classic Gin & Tonic during house parties, one of her best gin experiences came at Barbet & Pals in Delhi. Trusting the bartender’s recommendation, she tried the Cherry On Top cocktail and instantly became a fan. Made with gin, house-made cherry liqueur, a hint of caffeine, and Palo Santo mint soda for a touch of fizz, the drink served up multiple layers of flavour without feeling overly complex.

3. Gin Gimlet At AER, Four Seasons, Mumbai

For me, well, I LOVE GIN, so this was a difficult choice to make because wherever I go, my go-to order is anything that is sweet and has a Gin base. For me, I started drinking Gin almost 3-4 years back after my very bad experience with vodka, and I have never stopped since then. Gin Gimlet at AER in Mumbai is just the perfect drink because it hits all the right chords. It’s just the way I like it, and if you are someone who prefers sweet over something strong, then you know where to go.

4. Dirty Martini At MKT Chanakyapuri, Delhi

Our Content Writer, Ashmeet, doesn’t think of herself as much of a gin drinker. However, she had once tried a Dirty Martini at MKT in Chanakyapuri and found it quite refreshing, though a bit too strong for her taste. While gin isn’t usually her first choice, she’s all open to giving it another shot, especially if it’s paired with fruity flavours, because, after all, everyone and everything deserves a second chance, right?

5. Beefeater Gin At Scarlett House, Mumbai

Our Senior Writer, Deeplata, isn’t especially fond of gin and admits that its after-effects can be a little too intense for her liking. However, one gin experience completely changed her perception. During a visit to Scarlett House, Fay, the lead mixologist, introduced her to an unusual pairing of Beefeater Gin and pickle juice shots. While it wasn’t a cocktail in the traditional sense, the combination was surprisingly delicious for her, and she loved it.
