BMCA Wants Free Metro Travel Passes For Students On Bengaluru Metro
According to The New Indian Express, Karnataka has recently introduced free bus passes for students across the state. The move was welcomed by the Bengaluru Metro Commuters Association (BMCA), but it urged the government to extend this facility to the metro as well. According to the association, free passes on Namma Metro can promote educational access and public transport usage. Plus, metros are considered a safe mode of transport for students.
BMCA believes that transportation costs should not become a barrier to education. Moreover, free metro travel would make it easier for students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to access schools, colleges, coaching institutes and libraries across Bengaluru without putting additional financial burden on their families.

Free Metro Access Could Reduce Traffic & Pollution
