Christmas 2025: Goa, Bengaluru, Delhi & Pune Issue Traffic Advisory; Check Alternate Routes

Christmas is just here, and cities across India are gearing up for festive crowds and celebrations. Bengaluru, Pune, Goa and Delhi are all preparing special traffic arrangements to manage the surge of visitors to churches, malls, and popular markets on December 24 and 25. Travel Advisory For Christmas In Bengaluru

In Bengaluru, the traffic police have announced measures near key areas expecting heavy crowds. According to Hindustan Times, Holy Ghost Church in Pulakeshinagar will see large gatherings from the evening of December 24 until midday on December 25. Davis Road will be closed between John Armstrong Road and Cookson Road from 7 pm on December 24 to 12 pm on December 25. 

Traffic police advise drivers heading from Davis Road towards HM Road to take John Armstrong Road, continue via Viviani Road, and rejoin Davis Road through Cookson Road. Authorities have also banned parking on Davis Road, Banasawadi Main Road, Wheeler’s Road, St John’s Church Road, Hains Road, and Promenade Road.

In Mahadevapura, malls such as Phoenix Mall, VR Mall, and Nexus Shantiniketan will attract large crowds from 12 pm to 11 pm on December 24. Parking will be restricted on ITPL Main Road from Shell Petrol Bunk to Garudacharpalya and from Medicare Hospital to Big Bazaar Junction. 

Traffic police have set up designated drop-off and pick-up points near the BESCOM office, Lowry Junction, Rajapalya, and Aster Hospital. They advise vehicles coming from Hoodi or KR Puram Railway Station to take alternate routes via Shell Petrol Bunk.

New Travel Arrangements In Pune

Pune is also preparing for Christmas traffic, especially around Pune Camp and nearby churches. As per The Indian Express, traffic diversions will be in effect from 7 pm on both December 24 and 25. Vehicles from Y Junction to MG Road will be diverted via Qureshi Masjid and Sujata Mastani Chowk. 

Traffic from Iskon Temple to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue will move via SBI House Chowk, Teen Tofa Chowk, and Lashkar police station. Teams from local police stations and the traffic control branch will manage both traffic and crowd control.

Alternate Routes In Delhi

In Delhi, traffic restrictions are in place around Saket malls. The Economic Times reported that it includes Select City Mall, DLF Avenue Mall, and MGF Metropolitan Court Mall, starting from 2 pm on December 24 and 25. Press Enclave Road and several internal roads of Saket and Pushp Vihar will face closures. Median cuts from Sheikh Sarai to Hauz Rani will remain closed. 

Heavy vehicles and DTC or cluster buses will not be allowed on Press Enclave Road. Alternative routes are suggested via Khanpur T-Point, MB Road, Lado Sarai, and the TB Hospital red light.

Delhi Police will deploy nearly 20,000 personnel across the city to maintain law and order, manage traffic, and ensure safety. Special focus will be on border areas, markets, party hubs, and entry points. Checkpoints, breath analysers, and Quick Reaction Teams will remain active. Authorities have warned of strict action against stunt driving, drunk driving, and illegal stays in the city.

Goa is known for some of the best Christmas celebrations, and the Goa Police have increased their manpower. They will closely monitor areas near airports, railway stations, bus stops, and other crowded spots.
