Gurugram Metro Corridor To Be Developed As Multi-Modal Transport Hubs
According to Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) officials, three metro stations in the upcoming Gurugram Metro Corridor will be developed as multi-modal transport hubs. According to Hindustan Times, these three stations will be at Sector 45, Sector 39 (Cyber Park) and Sector 33 near the metro depot.
This plan will help commuters switch between the metro, city buses, autos and other transport options without much hassle. Work on the Sector 45 metro station has already started, and the proposed design was presented at a meeting chaired by additional GMDA CEO Vishwajeet Chaudhary on Monday. It will include bus bays, auto stands and footpaths.
The station’s design will also match the amenities available in the surrounding area. However, the proposal is still at the design stage. GMDA, Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) and Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) will first share their suggestions and objections before the final design is approved.

Other Multi-Modal Transport Hubs
To turn Sector 39 and Sector 33 metro stations into multi-modal transport hubs, authorities have decided to remove utilities around these stations to create facilities as per multi-modal norms. Hindustan Times reported that GMRL will handle their design and construction, while additional work outside the project will need approval. The state government will decide its cost and funding.
