Allen Park Hosting First-Ever Durga Puja

For the first time ever, Allen Park on Park Street is hosting Durga Puja. Earlier, it used to host only Christmas and New Year celebrations. The event is organised by Kolkata Sanatani Sangha, and the theme is inspired by Lord Shiva’s powerful Tandava dance. The pandal is designed by artist Subrata Chowdhury.

You can expect Varanasi-style evening aarti, Baul music performances and an Ashtami night jagrata involving 5,000 women. The festivities will also feature Nabami Nabadurga Puja and sindur khela on Dashami.
