Indian Railways Launches Punctuality BZA, An App To Monitor Train Movement & Delays

Indian Railways keeps coming up with new ways to ensure that passengers experience a smooth train journey. And now, to improve the punctuality of trains, the authorities have launched a new application called Punctuality BZA for real-time tracking of train movements and delays. Indian Railways Launches New App For Train Monitoring

According to The Indian Express, this is Indian Railways’ first internal mobile application for real-time monitoring of train punctuality and delays. The Android-based application, Punctuality BZA, basically helps improve operational efficiency and enhance the travel experience for thousands of passengers. Developed by the Vijayawada Division of South Coast Railway (SCoR), the app is expected to help authorities keep an eye on the movement of trains from anywhere.

Interestingly, Punctuality BZA eliminates the need to rely on desktop-based systems and addresses the limitations of the conventional ICMS web portal. These systems require officials to navigate multiple screens, which can sometimes be inconvenient.

App Will Provide Real-Time Alerts For Delayed Trains

According to The Indian Express, instead of working on multiple screens, officials will be able to access all the information on a single user-friendly dashboard. The app will provide section-wise train status, Late Train Monitoring (LTM), Punctuality Assessment Module (PAM) statistics and lost train identification. What’s more? The application will also provide automated notifications whenever a train gets delayed by more than 15 minutes.

The real-time monitoring will help enhance situational awareness and help officials make quick decisions. A railway official also shared with The Indian Express that it will enable prompt corrective action for improving punctuality. The application has also been integrated with the Late Train Monitoring (LTM BZA) system, an in-house tool that automates train run documentation for Train Managers. This will help officials access all delay-related information and train movements in real time.
