The 594-km-long Ganga Expressway is a flagship project of the government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The project was approved by the state cabinet back in 2020. As per a report by BW Auto World, the project has been completed on priority within the given time. The expressway is being positioned as a major component in reshaping the state’s infrastructure and driving the vision of a New Uttar Pradesh. Stretching 594 km, the Ganga Expressway runs from Bijoli village in Meerut to Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj, linking the western and eastern parts of the state. The corridor is expected to make travel faster, safer and more accessible while strengthening economic and social integration.

The expressway will pass through 12 districts, such as Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj. It will also connect a total of 519 villages, boosting economic activity in the region. As per the news portal, currently Uttar Pradesh accounts for about 55% of India’s expressway network. With the addition of the Ganga Expressway, this share is all set to rise to 60%, positioning the state as a leader in highway development.
