Bajrang Setu In Rishikesh To Introduce Entry Fee For Tourists; Here’s What You’ll Pay

Bajrang Setu is a new 132-metre-long bridge in Rishikesh that will replace the historic Lakshman Jhula. It features transparent glass walkways that offer great views of the Ganga River. However, tourists may soon have to pay an entry fee to experience its much-awaited glass skywalk. Here’s everything you need to know.

Bajrang Setu In Rishikesh To Introduce Entry Fee For Tourists

The construction of Bajrang Setu in Rishikesh is almost complete and is now awaiting its formal opening. Tourists are already excited, as the suspension bridge has glass-floor walkways that offer beautiful views of the Ganga River. According to The Times of India, the Uttarakhand government is now planning to introduce an entry fee for the pedestrian glass walkways on either side of the bridge.

The entry fee will soon come into effect for tourists waiting to experience the skywalk. Visitors will have to pay ₹100 per adult for two hours to access the glass walkway. Children will be charged ₹50 for the same duration. However, the fee is applicable only to the glass pedestrian walkways. The central concrete section will remain free for commuters.

Bridge Located Close To Popular Tourist Spots

Tourists will be able to access the glass walkways between 6 am and 10 pm. However, the central portion of the bridge will remain open 24 hours a day. According to The Times of India, the PWD is expected to initiate the tender process shortly. After that, the fee collection system will begin for visitors.

Bajrang Setu has been built over the Ganga River in Rishikesh, close to the iconic Old Lakshman Jhula. The new bridge connects Tapovan in Tehri Garhwal district with Jonk in Pauri Garhwal district, making it an important link between the two sides of the river. Bajrang Setu is close to Rishikesh’s most popular tourist spots, including temples, ashrams, cafes and other attractions. Visitors travelling to Rishikesh can reach the bridge by road from Haridwar and Dehradun.
