Mumbai Police Reacts To ₹370 Biryani Controversy

In a recent viral controversy, a video of Gurgaon-based web developer Himanshu Jangra has been circulating widely on social media. He attended Pranit More’s stand-up comedy show, where he shared a date story.

While narrating, he said he had paid ₹370 for chicken biryani, after which his date asked him to drop her home. However, he claimed he was not in the mood. According to him, since he paid for the biryani, he deserved something in return. He openly said during the show, “₹370 lage hai, vasool toh karunga main.”

This video went viral, and many people criticised his statement. He even reportedly lost his job following the backlash.

Now, the Mumbai Police also took to social media to share a message. They came up with the hashtag #BiryaniIsNotConsent. In their post, they advised people to “get your own plate of biryani” and, in a stern warning, added that their lockup serves free meals and longer stays.
