Anupam Kher Visits Iconic DDLJ Railway Station
Anupam Kher often takes to social media to share his experiences from the places he visits. Now, once again, he posted a video that instantly made us feel nostalgic because he was at the iconic DDLJ railway station, where the climax was shot. The railway station is Apta Railway Station, located in Maharashtra’s Raigad district.
In the clip, he walked through the station and spoke about the memories attached to the place. He called it a part of Indian cinema’s history and said people across the world still remember the famous scene filmed there. In the video, he also recreated the scene and showed the exact spot where Kajol was standing, where he and the other cast members stood, and how Shah Rukh Khan held out his hand.

Making It A Tourist Location
This railway station is where Amrish Puri delivered the unforgettable dialogue, “Ja, Simran, ja, jee le apni zindagi.” He compared visiting Apta Station to seeing the shooting locations of legendary international films like The Godfather in Sicily. He also thanked filmmaker Aditya Chopra, late director Yash Chopra and the entire team of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge for making him a part of such a memorable film.
In the caption, Anupam Kher also requested the Maharashtra government to declare this railway station a tourist destination. He said famous film locations around the world become emotional landmarks for fans and India should also protect such cinematic heritage.
