If you’re in Delhi and looking for a fun way to enjoy the capital, you’re in for a treat. Hot air balloon rides are set to resume, giving you a chance to enjoy views of the city from above. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) plans to resume these rides at Baansera from November 14.

Hot Air Balloon Rides To Resume In Delhi

Delhiites, get ready to enjoy hot air balloon rides as the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is restarting the service at Baansera. This adventure activity first began on November 29, 2025, but stopped in March as summer was approaching. As per Hindustan Times report, however, the rides did not attract as many visitors as expected.

Only around 20 people used to come to enjoy this ride on weekends and three to four people on weekdays. Because of the low footfall, the hot air balloon rides were restricted to weekends from December last year.

How Much Do Hot Air Balloon Rides Cost In Delhi?

But now, as the service reopens, Air Safari, the company operating the rides, is planning to attract more visitors with discounts and offers. When this activity started, the price was ₹3,000 per person, excluding the Goods and Services Tax (GST). Schools and corporate groups will get special discounts, while individuals and families can enjoy a 20% discount on tickets.

What Views Can You Enjoy On This Ride?

According to Hindustan Times, when you take a hot air balloon ride, you can enjoy beautiful aerial views of the Yamuna floodplains, green spaces and Delhi’s skyline. Don’t worry, the balloon is attached to the ground with strong ropes, taking you 100 to 150 feet above the ground. The ride lasts about 10 minutes. The hot air balloon usually carries three to five people, although it can accommodate up to 10 passengers.

As the rides received not-so-great response, the DDA put its plan to expand the hot air balloon ride service to other locations on hold. The plan included four locations; Asita East Park, Baansera Park, the Yamuna Sports Complex in Surajmal Vihar and the Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex.

It’ll be interesting to see how Delhiites respond to the hot air balloon rides this time!
