Goa May Soon Get Feni Trails, Caravan Tourism & Hot Air Balloon Rides To Boost Year-Round Footfall

Goa is known for its tranquil beaches and nightlife, but soon, travellers visiting the state may get to enjoy a lot more on their holiday. The Tourism Department is considering activities like hot air balloon rides, caravan tourism, wildlife safaris and more to offer both domestic and international tourists a greater variety of experiences.

Goa Plans Over 60 New Tourism Experiences

According to The Times of India, the Tourism Department is planning not one or two but over 60 new experiences for visitors in the state. Goa will not just be about beach visits but also about skydiving, hot air balloon rides, feni trails, wildlife safaris and more. These activities will ensure that tourists have something interesting to do in Goa all year round.

Activities across 11 categories, including water-based tourism, adventure and aero sports, wellness, cultural experiences, entertainment and digital tourism, have been identified. Reportedly, the tender has been floated. Operators must have an average annual turnover of ₹50 lakh in any three of the last five financial years. Plus, operators should have at least three years of relevant experience.

Heritage Walks, Village Experiences & More

Many activities like seaplane services, paragliding and more are not new ideas. According to The Times of India, some of these activities were also planned before, but they failed to prove successful. However, if everything goes as planned this time, these activities could become mainstream in the state. The Tourism Department intends to charge a fixed annual licence fee of ₹5 lakh to register these activities.

People would also get to enjoy culinary tourism, feni trails, heritage walks, village experiences, spice plantation tours and more. However, the cost of these packages is expected to be on the higher side. This means visitors may have to plan their budget accordingly if they want to experience these new activities in Goa.
