Parents in Delhi, here’s something to add to your kids’ outing list! The city is set to get seven new children’s theme parks, and these aren’t going to be your usual neighbourhood parks with just a few swings and slides. Think giant insects, octopus-shaped slides, marine creatures and even a massive peacock that doubles as a play area.
7 New Theme Parks Coming Up For Children In Delhi
According to Hindustan Times, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is developing these parks across the city, with all seven expected to open between November 2026 and January 2027. The idea is to make outdoor play more interactive, giving children something fun to explore while letting their imagination run wild.
The parks are being developed under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme and will follow a concept called ‘sculpture play’. In simple terms, the sculptures aren’t just there to look pretty. They will also serve as slides, swings, climbing structures, tunnels, seating areas and more.
The idea takes inspiration from the dinosaur-themed park at Sarai Kale Khan, where giant dinosaur replicas became an attraction for visitors. With the new parks, the MCD hopes to bring a similar experience to other parts of the capital.
