The first hydrogen-powered train in India operates between Jind and Sonipat in Haryana. It runs on an 89-km-long section and is a part of Northern Railway’s Delhi Division. The launch of this train is being considered a proud moment for India. But just a few days after its launch, a video has been going viral on social media claiming that a stone-pelting incident took place on the train. The video showing the incident was posted by @ItsEramX.
Indian Railways has now issued a clarification regarding the incident. Northern Railway stated on its official X account that the viral video is old and that the train seen in the clip is not the hydrogen train. Reportedly, the train shown is operated by a WAG-12 locomotive. This means that the viral video is misleading.

Hydrogen Train Continues To Run As Per Schedule
The authorities further clarified that the hydrogen train is still running as per its scheduled timetable. Moreover, the video drew backlash after many netizens said that the hydrogen train has been developed using the hard-earned taxes of common people and that people should stop throwing stones at public property. According to The Indian Express, India’s first hydrogen train covers a distance of 89 km in about two hours. It has an operational speed of up to 75 kmph.
The Jind-Sonipat hydrogen train runs via Pandu Pindara and stops at 12 stations during its two-hour journey. These stations are Jind City, Pandu Pindara, Lalit Khera, Bhambeva, Ishapur Kheri, Butana, Khandrai, Gohana, Rabhra, Lath, Mohana Haryana, and Barwasni.
Talking about its timings, Train No. 74010 departs from Jind Junction at 7:40 am and arrives at Sonipat at 9:40 am. On the return journey, Train No. 74009 departs from Sonipat at 10:40 am and reaches Jind Junction at 1 pm.
