Indian Railways has already announced that it will soon launch sleeper Vande Bharat trains. These trains aim to make overnight journeys more relaxing and convenient. At the 16th International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2025 in New Delhi, Kinet Railway Solutions, a collaboration between India and Russia, revealed the first look of the new train. They designed the First Class coach with interiors that feel like a private, luxurious transport. Together, they will be building and taking care of 120 Vande Bharat Sleeper trains. All these trains in total will have 1,920 coaches, reported The Financial Express.
Recently, a digital creator, Akshay Malhotra (@journeyswithak), dropped a video on his social media handle where he revealed what the interior of a first-class coach looks like. Inside the train, first-class cabins feature comfortable seats, four sleeping berths, reading lights, water bottle holders, charging points, and Wi-Fi. These features are added to offer a premium travel experience. The train will have an operational speed of 160 km/h and a maximum speed of 180 km/h, making journeys faster without compromising comfort.
More About The New Train
Each sleeper Vande Bharat train will have 16 coaches. It will include AC First Class, AC 2 Tier, and AC 3 Tier compartments. As per News 18, ticket prices are expected to be 10–15% higher than the Rajdhani Express. Each train is expected to carry around 1,128 passengers. It will include modern safety features, such as crash buffers, deformation tubes, and fire-resistant walls between coaches. Before the trains are open for passengers, the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) will conduct trial runs.
The railways have decided to launch two Vande Bharat Sleeper trains simultaneously. Last month, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the launch will happen only after the second train is fully ready for regular service.
We can’t wait to experience long-distance travel with these premium services.
