Giant Wheel Ride Collapses At Kerala Amusement Park

Amusement parks are supposed to be fun and safe, but a recent incident in Kerala has once again raised questions about safety, especially for children. On May 28, 2026, at least five people, including two children, were injured after a giant wheel ride collapsed mid-ride. The incident happened at Happyland Amusement Park near Thiruvananthapuram. The video of the incident was posted by X user @rajtweets10.

According to India Today, the mishap occurred around 2 pm during the peak holiday rush. Preliminary findings suggest that a failure in welding joints and the supporting metal structure caused the ride to break apart while it was operating. However, the police have now started an investigation.
