As per Cleartrip’s Peekaboo Travel Trends Tracker, many people are travelling this Janmashtami, making it a popular weekend for travel. Younger travellers and solo female travellers are among those travelling the most during the festival. Pilgrimage destinations are among their most preferred choices.
Solo female travellers are travelling more during the Janmashtami long weekend. Air travel among this group has increased by around 8% year-on-year. Moreover, young travellers see it as a perfect opportunity to take a break. Air travel among people aged 15-24 has grown by about 20% compared to last year.

Where Are People Travelling To?
During Janmashtami, many people are planning visits to spiritual places. The top two preferred destinations are Mathura and Vrindavan. Moreover, Dwarka saw the highest year-on-year growth in travel demand during this period. Hotel bookings in these spiritual destinations also increased, with overall bookings rising by nearly 66% compared to last year.
The other places that witnessed a rise in hotel bookings are Puri, Guruvayur and Nathdwara. Also, people are not just travelling by air. Bus bookings have increased by 70% year-on-year.
