Lalbaugcha Raja Mandal Ganeshotsav

Celebrating festivals in India is not just about two or three days of preparation. The preparations begin months in advance. In Mumbai, one of the biggest celebrations is Ganeshotsav, and the planning for it has already begun. The Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal has officially started its preparations for Ganeshotsav 2026. Here’s how!

Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Mandal Starts Ganeshotsav Prep

From Tuesday, June 9, the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Mandal began preparations for Ganeshotsav in Mumbai. The preparations began with the traditional Ganesh Muhurta Pujan. This ritual is considered the formal beginning of the festival preparations. In 2026, the Mandal will enter its 93rd year of celebration. The Ganeshotsav will begin on September 14 and conclude on September 25, ending with Anant Chaturdashi.

The traditional Muhurta Pujan ceremony was held early in the morning at around 5 am and was performed by Mandal president Balasaheb Kamble. As part of the ritual, the Mandal’s receipt books were also worshipped, and treasurer Mangesh Dattaram Dalvi performed this ceremonial duty. After the main pujan, a customary foot worship ceremony was conducted at the Hanuman Temple located on Lalbaugcha Raja Marg.
