On Friday morning, August 29, a major disruption affected Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line, causing trains to run behind schedule and turning short journeys into long ones. Heavy rainfall across Delhi-NCR is one of the main reasons behind this disruption. Scroll down to know more.
Services Disrupted On Delhi Metro Yellow Line During Peak Hour
On Friday morning, due to heavy rainfall, many metro services slowed down due to unclear paths, causing even short journeys to take hours to complete. Because of this situation, many passengers complained of overcrowded platforms and jam-packed coaches, making the situation worse during peak hours.
Various metro commuters took to their social media handle to complain about the train delays and breakdowns at different stations. One X user, sharing a picture of an overcrowded train, wrote, “Delhi Metro Yellow Line technical fault, scenes at Hauz Khas Metro #delhimetro.” Harsh Kumar, another X user who regularly travels by metro, posted about the travel duration from Samaypur Badli to Rajiv Chowk. He wrote, “Wanna travel LATE & SLOW!! Do travel from the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line. To cover 25 minutes of travel time, it is still taking much more time to cover the route. Already we’ve lost 1 hour of our precious time.” He also mentioned that the journey from Samaypur Badli to Rajiv Chowk, which normally takes 25 minutes, increased to 1 hour and 38 minutes due to the disruption this morning.

At every station & on the way, it is announced that there will be a delay in the journey. What’s the matter?”
